This week the second Fontys VR Symposium was held in Eindhoven. Among the speakers was Els Vollenbroek, group lead of the factory training department of ASML, the world leader in semiconductor production systems. She discussed the reason why ASML chose Virtual Reality as a training method and how it was implemented last year using VROOM training software. Subsequently she showed some of the results and lessons learned. Some of herĀ findings are:

  • Almost 80% of complex trainings can be done using VROOM.
  • The expected 50% time saving turned out to be an amazing 80%.

Overall they’re very happy with the results and will ramp up training development this year to over 50 new trainings.
